How to use Passive DC Node Network Workbench
Write reduced nodal conductance equations, solve exact rational potentials and calculate oriented branch currents, resistor losses and net boundary power.
- Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
- Write reduced nodal conductance equations, solve exact rational potentials and calculate oriented branch currents, resistor losses and net boundary power.
- Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.
Good to know
- 2–12 distinct nodes with at most 8 unknown potentials and 1–30 distinct resistors. Declare at least one zero-volt fixed reference; every unknown component must connect to a fixed potential.
- Fixed potentials are decimal strings within ±1 million volts; resistances are positive decimal strings at most 1 billion ohms. Exact ideal arithmetic is not a safe operating design, component rating or real-circuit certification. No current/controlled/floating sources, AC, transients or netlist execution.
- Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.
Common questions
Can this solve a bridge that is not a simple series or parallel chain?
Yes, within the node/resistor bounds. The conductance equations handle arbitrary passive branches. Fixed node potentials replace boundary voltage sources; a voltage source between two unknown nodes is outside this restricted model.
Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?
No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
