How to use Palindrome Checker
Test a phrase while choosing what counts as a character. You can ignore punctuation and case or compare the complete normalized text exactly.
- Enter a phrase or sequence.
- Choose exact comparison or letters/numbers only.
- Check the answer and inspect the comparison text.
Good to know
- All comparisons normalize canonically equivalent text to NFC. Ignore-case uses default lowercase, not full language-specific case folding.
- Letters/numbers mode excludes symbols, including emoji. Use exact mode to compare emoji sequences.
Common questions
Does punctuation affect the result?
It does in exact mode. Letters/numbers mode removes punctuation, whitespace, and symbols first.
Why is empty input rejected?
An empty comparison is mathematically trivial but not a useful phrase check. At least one retained grapheme is required.
