How to use Interlinear Gloss Alignment Workbench

Prepare original small teaching examples with source words directly above supplied glosses. Mechanical mismatches remain a JSON review instead of an attractive but falsely aligned page, and linguistic interpretation stays explicitly outside the tool.

  1. Enter input.
  2. Choose the settings for interlinear gloss alignment workbench, then run the tool.
  3. Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.

Good to know

  • 100 blocks; source and gloss lines each at most 2,000 characters and 50 ASCII-space-delimited words, translation at most 1,000 characters. Source/gloss tabs and line breaks are refused.
  • Checks word counts and literal hyphen/clitic = separator sequence only. Other Leipzig conventions, linguistic analysis, abbreviation meaning and translation correctness are unassessed. Mismatched report-only output is JSON, never a falsely aligned printable artifact.
  • Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.

Common questions

Does matching separator structure prove the gloss is correct?

No. It proves only the declared mechanical alignment checks. A knowledgeable author still needs to review every morpheme, grammatical label and translation before using the example.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
