Horizontal Tank Dip Table Workbench

Create an ideal horizontal flat-ended cylinder dip table, calculate partial filled and remaining volumes, and invert entered volumes to approximate levels.

✓ Browser-local processing
Use the complete example schema. Quantities are exact decimal strings with up to six places; do not replace them with JSON decimal numbers.

How to use Horizontal Tank Dip Table Workbench

Enter inside diameter and length in one unit, choose table intervals and add depth or volume queries. Integrate the circular segment with a stable small-tail evaluation. Keep filled and empty amounts separate and inspect inverse numeric residuals before using the exported calibration table.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. Enter inside diameter and length in one unit, choose table intervals and add depth or volume queries. Integrate the circular segment with a stable small-tail evaluation. Keep filled and empty amounts separate and inspect inverse numeric residuals before using the exported calibration table.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • Positive inside diameter and length up to 1,000,000, six-place decimal strings. Table intervals 1–500, up to 100 queries. Depth lies inside the diameter; volume queries are nonnegative up to 1 billion cubic units and within approximate capacity.
  • Only level horizontal circular cylinders with flat ends. Volumes/levels are approximate stored doubles, not certified bounds; no curved heads, tilt, temperature, measurement correction, pressure, fuel, custody-transfer or safety use guarantee. One common length unit; no implicit cubic-unit conversion.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Why report remaining volume separately near a full tank?

Subtracting two almost equal large numbers can erase a small empty volume. Forward depth queries first preserve the exact entered diameter-minus-depth difference, then evaluate that small tail directly. The filled amount may still round to full at stored-double precision, so both amounts and the approximation convention are exported.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
