How to use Dated Cash-flow Valuation Workbench

Combine same-date amounts exactly, use actual calendar days over a fixed 365-day year and retain every discounting row with an explicit numeric residual for supported yield models.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. Combine same-date amounts exactly, use actual calendar days over a fixed 365-day year and retain every discounting row with an explicit numeric residual for supported yield models.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • 1–200 dated amounts; Gregorian years 1900–9999 and every date from the valuation day through at most 7,300 later days. Amounts are signed decimal strings within ±1 billion, in one common currency.
  • Present-value rate is a decimal-string annual percent from −99.9999 through 99,999,900. Yield mode requires one negative grouped initial outlay and only later nonnegative receipts; its annual growth factor is bounded to 0.000001–1,000,000. A supplied rate is validated but unused in yield mode.
  • Same-date combination and zero-rate totals are exact; discounted powers/yields are binary64 approximations and can lose relative precision near cancellation. No certified root enclosure, currency rounding, spreadsheet serial-date emulation, live quote, tax or investment recommendation.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Why does a calendar-year gap not always count as exactly one discounting year?

This declared convention divides actual Gregorian days by 365, including leap days. For example, a 366-day span is 366/365 model years. Other financial day-count conventions can produce different results and are outside this page.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
