How to use Cash Drawer Shift Reconciliation
Count each denomination at shift opening and closing. Enter actual cash sales as ticket, tendered and change amounts plus refunds and paid-in/out events. Compare physical closing with both actual cash movements and ticket expectations; inspect each wrong-change difference independently.
- Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.

- Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.
Good to know
- Up to 30 distinct positive denominations and 200 events; counts are 0–1,000,000. Input money uses whole cents at most 1 billion. Observed cash must remain nonnegative; change cannot exceed tendered, so cash refunds use a separate event.
- All events belong to one shift and common currency. Counts and records are supplied evidence, not cash authenticity, employee fault, tax, payment processing or accounting assurance. The tool does not find a denomination change plan.
- Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.
Common questions
Can a balanced drawer still contain a sale error?
Yes. A ticket of 3 with tender 5 and change 1 adds 4 cash. Closing at that observed amount balances the cash movements but is 1 above the ticket expectation. Both differences and every sale discrepancy remain in the report, including when separate errors cancel in total.
Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?
No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
