How to use Arithmetic Card Target Workbench

Build exact rational values for disjoint card subsets and combine them with a fixed binary operation set, preserving one constructed expression for each value.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. Build exact rational values for disjoint card subsets and combine them with a fixed binary operation set, preserving one constructed expression for each value.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • Exactly four JSON integer cards from 1 through 13 and a decimal-string target within ±1 billion, at most six decimal places. Every card position is used once; no concatenation, powers, factorials or entered-expression parsing.
  • At most 100,000 exact combination operations; optional operationBudget is an integer 1–100,000. A completed search can prove no solution for this operation set; a stopped search returns unknown. One witness is not guaranteed to use the simplest intermediate values.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Can repeated card values be reused arbitrarily?

No. Equal-looking values still represent different card positions. A subset witness tracks those positions, combines disjoint subsets and requires all four positions exactly once in the final expression.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
