How to use Appliance Time-of-use Start Planner
Enter consecutive tariff slots in currency per kWh, the slot duration and each appliance’s average watt profile. The planner multiplies matching power and price entries for every full-profile start in its allowed window, then reports start/finish checkpoints and exact costs.
- Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.

- Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.
Good to know
- At most 96 tariff slots, 24 appliances, 96 profile slots per appliance and 230,000 matched slot products. Slot minutes are integers from 1 through 1,440; power is 0–1,000,000 W and price is −1,000 through 1,000 per kWh. Every job is independent; this does not schedule shared circuits or operate appliances.
- Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.
Common questions
Does the cheapest start represent my actual utility bill or a safe automatic schedule?
It minimizes only the authored energy charge over the supplied slot grid. Other charges, forecast changes, shared capacity and device operating restrictions need separate consideration. No device or utility service is contacted.
Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?
No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
