How to use Overtime Pay Scenario Calculator
Regular hours are the smaller of entered hours and the chosen threshold. Remaining hours receive the entered base rate times the premium multiplier. These are scenario inputs rather than statutory rules.
- Enter worked hours, base hourly pay, user regular-hour threshold, user premium multiplier.
- Choose the stated convention and check the units and supported model.
- Calculate, inspect the result, then copy or download it.
Good to know
- Hours/threshold0–1000, nonnegative base rate, premium multiplier1–10. No jurisdiction, employment status, exemptions, tax or legal entitlement is inferred.
- Runs locally. Text/JSON fields are capped at30,000 characters; stricter page-specific and numeric-string limits also apply. Numeric inputs are bounded to magnitude1e15 and nonzero magnitude at least1e-100 unless an exact-string mode states otherwise. Approximate summaries use12 significant digits; CSV numeric cells retain the complete stored value and potentially formula-like string cells gain a protective apostrophe; unsupported, non-finite or detected underflow states return an error.
- Educational user-assumption arithmetic only. No live prices, laws, tax rules, quotes or financial advice.
Common questions
Does the result establish overtime eligibility?
No. You supply the threshold and multiplier. Employment law and payroll treatment are outside this arithmetic scenario.
Is the input uploaded or saved?
No. The tool calculates inside this browser tab and provides a local download; it does not persist your input.
