How to use Nginx Configuration Structure Inspector

Map directive blocks, include statements and server declarations from one local Nginx configuration without running it. Keep source line numbers and quoted argument spellings while reviewing nested contexts. Locate unclosed blocks and incomplete directives before handing the file to your own Nginx validation workflow.

  1. Provide single nginx configuration source.
  2. Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
  3. Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.

Good to know

  • 100 KB well-formed UTF-8, 1,500 directives, 12,000 tokens, 100 tokens per directive, 32 block levels and 4,090 bytes per token. LF and CRLF, single/double quoted tokens, selected Nginx escapes and ${variable} braces are recognized.
  • Only ASCII directive identifiers and ordinary directive/block syntax. Embedded Lua, Perl and JavaScript directives are refused. Unquoted # starts a comment only at the beginning of a token; quoted-token concatenation is not accepted.
  • This is a structural inventory, not nginx -t or a formatter. Module/argument validity, directive context rules, location matching, inheritance, regex evaluation and configuration expansion are not determined. include paths are listed without opening or expanding them.
  • The separate JSON report is limited to 500,000 characters, including formatting; reduce the source if the report exceeds that bound.
  • Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.

Common questions

Does a clean structure report mean the server will start?

No. It only establishes the selected lexical/block structure. Validate the complete configuration with your authorized Nginx installation and its exact modules, permissions, included files and deployment environment.

Does this change my original input?

No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
