How to use Image Alternative Text Auditor
Inventory author-supplied image alternatives for review. An empty alt can intentionally identify decoration, while non-empty text still requires a human quality check.
- Enter input.
- Choose the settings for image alternative text auditor, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- Only static img attributes are inspected. Other image roles, CSS backgrounds and contextual meaning are outside scope.
- Missing or empty alternatives require contextual review; this is not complete WCAG validation.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Does an empty alt always mean an error?
No. Decorative images often need an empty alt. Human context determines the correct choice.
Is this input sent to a server?
No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
