How to use GitHub Issue Form Builder
Generate a real issue-form YAML draft from a bounded input, textarea, dropdown and checkbox model. Keep field IDs, labels, choices and required declarations explicit in a file you can review for your repository. This generator prepares source configuration; GitHub account, repository labels and form submission behavior still need separate platform validation.
- Provide optional issue-form model json, selected issue form model as json.
- Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
- Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.
Good to know
- One UTF-8 JSON model up to 50,000 bytes, 10,000 values and 40 levels. Unknown selected-model members, duplicate/prototype-related object members, malformed Unicode and prohibited controls are refused. Output is capped at 500,000 characters.
- A local module Worker loads the selected code and, for issue YAML, the writer library before ready within 10 seconds. Its separate computation deadline is 2 seconds. Nothing is rendered, fetched, submitted, published or automatically saved.
- Supply a nonblank name up to 80 bytes and one-line description up to 200 bytes, with 1–50 fields. Field IDs are unique 1–64-byte ASCII letters/digits/hyphens/underscores; labels are unique nonblank single-line Unicode up to 200 bytes. Optional title is at most 200 bytes and at most 20 exact repository-label strings of 100 bytes each.
- Supported types are input, textarea, dropdown and checkboxes. Text descriptions/placeholders are at most 2,000 bytes and initial values at most 5,000. Input placeholders/values are single-line; textarea text can include tab/newline. Unsupported fields and cross-type properties are refused.
- Dropdowns have 1–30 distinct literal options and an optional actual boolean multiple. Checkboxes have 1–30 uniquely labeled option objects with optional actual boolean required. A field required flag is also an actual boolean. No expression, template evaluation or user script is run.
- No Markdown/upload field, render language, min_length, dropdown default index, assignee or existing-YAML merge is supported. Generated YAML is at most 100,000 UTF-8 bytes. Strings are quoted by the writer so source values cannot turn into YAML syntax.
- Review the draft inside .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE. Existing repository labels, permissions, enabled issue features, current preview-schema changes and public-repository validation restrictions are not verified. This tool neither opens an issue nor guarantees platform acceptance.
- Structured text output is limited to 500,000 characters. Reduce the supplied source when that separate output budget is exceeded.
- Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
Does downloading this file create or enable a GitHub issue form?
No. Downloading creates only a local YAML draft. Review it and the current GitHub documentation, then add it to the correct repository location through your own workflow. The tool does not access a repository or test a submitted form.
Does this change my original input?
No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
