How to use Extract Numbers
Pull numeric text from mixed notes without turning long integers into imprecise JavaScript numbers. Choose original spelling or remove recognized thousands commas.
- Paste text containing decimal numbers.
- Choose original spelling or remove recognized grouping commas.
- Extract one matched numeric string per output line.
Good to know
- Uses a dot decimal separator, optional groups of three digits separated by commas, and optional e/E exponent. Locale decimal commas are not supported.
- Numeric substrings inside dates, identifiers, malformed numbers, or URLs may also match; this is extraction, not document understanding.
- No numeric conversion, summation, or precision loss is introduced. Hexadecimal and Unicode digit scripts are not parsed.
Common questions
Are very large integers rounded?
No. Matches remain strings, including every matched digit.
Is 1,5 treated as one decimal?
No. Dot-decimal notation is required; 1,5 yields separate number matches.
