How to use CSS Selector Specificity Analyzer
Calculate selector specificity tuples, including supported functional selector rules. A selector AST distinguishes IDs, classes/attributes and element selectors. :where contributes zero; :is/:not/:has use their most specific argument, and supported nth-child of-lists add their argument specificity.
- Provide css selector list.
- Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
- Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.
Good to know
- Selector lists only,50,000 characters,200 selectors,30,000 nodes and100 levels. Unknown functional selector syntax is rejected.
- Specificity does not decide a full cascade: origins, importance, layers, scope, source order and actual selector matches are not evaluated.
- 10-second parser startup and2-second isolated computation limit.
- Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
Does the largest tuple always win?
Only among declarations competing at the same relevant cascade stage. This tool reports selector specificity alone, not a final browser style winner.
Does this change my original input?
No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
